16-bit UUIDs for Members. A 16-bit Universally Unique Identifier (UUID) may be allocated by the SIG for use with a custom GATT-based
For any custom services and characteristics within the GATT, we can use an online tool to generate UUIDs such as the Online GUID Generator. A common practice is to choose a base UUID for the custom service and then increment the 3rd and 4th Most Significant Bytes (MSB) within the UUID of each included characteristic.
Human Interface Device(GATT) 1326; UUID of GATT service 1273; UUID of GATT characteristic 1083; UUID of GATT descriptor 760 Se hela listan på learn.adafruit.com You can use the automatically generated UUIDs as such. The GATT configurator generates random UUID values (Version 4 UUID, see: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Universally_unique_identifier ) The UUIDs that you use must not overlap with the Bluetooth base UUID, defined in the Bluetooth Core specification: xxxxxxxx-0000-1000-8000-00805F9B34FB. You can recognize the base UUID from the #define in our_service.h and if you look closely you should also recognize our 16-bit service UUID: 0000 ABCD-1212-EFDE-1523-785FEF13D123. If you have opened the Segger RTT you will also see some information about the application flow. This command can be used to discover all the characteristics of the specified GATT service in a remote GATT database having the specified UUID.

BLE_UUID_OUR_SERVICE is, as you know, our service UUID and BLE_UUID_TYPE_VENDOR_BEGIN indicates that it is a part of a vendor specific base UUID. More specifically BLE_UUID_TYPE_VENDOR_BEGIN is an index pointing to our base UUID in the table of UUIDs that we initiated in our_service_init() .

UUIDs are used in Bluetooth® protocols and applications. The SIG provides UUIDs for all the types, services, and profiles it defines. A fee of 2500 USD will be charged for each UUID. In Bluetooth, attributes types, GATT service types, characteristic types and descriptor types, and other constants are identified through UUIDs.
